If you’re planning a long ski weekend this winter with the whole family, get some ideas for your vacation with our family itinerary below.
Check-in and then check out your hotel room or suite. If you’re not ready to hit the slopes first thing, head over to Main Street where you’ll find a variety of restaurants to satisfy whatever craving you may have. Or head up closer to the resort to join the skiers for Après Ski.
Today is your first full-day in Park City so make the most of it with an early start on the mountain!
If the kids are still learning to navigate mountains and proper skiing techniques, drop them off at kids ski school for a group or private ski or snowboard lesson. Many lessons can last the entire day so you know your child is in good hands while you take the more challenging runs.
After a hard day hitting the slopes, take part in the tradition and find a spot for Après Ski! Or, take the hungry kiddos down to PayDay Pizza for a family-friendly dinner.
Give your legs a break this morning with a dog sledding adventure that’s only 15 minutes away from Park City’s Main Street! This experience is perfect for the whole family, though riders must be older than three, as not only can you enjoy the ride you’ll also learn to be a musher. Try the one-hour experience or a split-ride experience depending on your party size.
After dog sledding, head back into town and visit Riverhorse on Main for their amazing brunch menu. This family-friendly restaurant offers favorites like buttermilk pancakes and stuffed French toast alongside fine selections for lunch. Brunch is served Thursday – Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
After you’ve had your fill of breakfast or lunch, return to your room to change for afternoon skiing on the mountain. Enjoy skiing as a family as you carve your way down the beginner slopes.
Either make another day of skiing at Park City or if the kids are over the age of seven, let them ride the mountain zipline for a different kind of rush! They can either ride three or four lines starting as early as 9 a.m. or ride as late as 3 p.m.
Stop for lunch in the saloon, the High West Distillery and Saloon for Western-inspired cuisine and hospitality. Don’t worry, the saloon is family-friendly with a separate kids’ menu.
Ride out the rest of the day on the mountain before the finale this evening. Tonight, you’ll end your weekend on a high note with a horse-drawn sleigh ride! Bundle up, especially the kids, as the weather can change quickly once the sun sets. There will be blankets on the sleigh, but it’s best to come prepared with gloves or mittens, a hat, and warm jacket.
