Plan Your Spring Vacation in Park City

March through April is one of the best times to visit Park City. With the sun shining bright, blue skies, and plentiful powder, there are many reasons to plan your spring vacation in Park City. From spring skiing, outdoor concerts, lively nightlife, and beautiful mountain scenery, why would you spend your spring vacation anywhere else? Here are our top five reasons to plan your spring vacation in Park City.

Spring skiing

Springtime is the best time to hit the slopes. With warmer temps, sunnier days, and softer powder, skiing in Park City doesn’t get any better than this. Depending on the weather Park City ski resorts stay open until mid-April, plenty of time to enjoy the end of the season during your spring vacation in Park City. Besides the great weather, there also tends to be fewer crowds and shorter lift lines, which means more time on the mountain!

Apres-ski scene

Park City’s apres-ski scene is always lively during the winter, but the spring weather brings more opportunity to enjoy a cold brew or crafty cocktail outside – mountainside or in town. Just off the slopes, there are several bars and lounges at Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort. Choose from the ski beach or EBS Snow Park lounge at Deer Valley Resort. Park City Mountain’s Canyons Village has ample outdoor apres-ski opportunities at the Drafts Sports Bar and Grill and the Umbrella Bar.

Spring activities that aren’t skiing

Yes, while Park City’s main attraction is its world-class slopes, there are still many outdoor activities available during the spring months.  The spring weather lends itself to more idyllic days to spend outdoors either biking, hiking, and other winter activities that are still fun in the spring.

Spring Gruv

If you do only one thing during your spring vacation in Park City, make sure you attend the annual Spring Gruv event. As resorts prepare to end the ski season, outdoor concerts and the annual Pond Skimming event take center stage in the last half of March into early April. If there is one part of Spring Gruv not to miss it is the Pond Skimming event. With 100 brave- or nonsensical, depending on your opinion, participants ascend at rapid speed down the slope in an effort to skim across an ice-cold pond on their skis or snowboards. A lift or gondola ticket is required to witness this spectacle but totally worth the cost for an unforgettable experience.
