With great places to eat and drink and so many activities for everyone to enjoy, Park City is a great escape for the weekend adventurer or weekend relaxer. From tasty breakfasts spots to local brews, outdoor activities to catching a flick, you won’t be bored!

Places to Eat

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so start it off right at one of the best breakfast spots in town. A favorite among locals, Tupelo serves up some of the best Southern-inspired dishes, that are not lacking in flavor. Or head to the Boneyard Saloon for a casual brunch spot, located right off of Main Street, this local gem is a great place to enjoy some comfort food with a mimosa in hand.

For a casual lunch spot head out to El Chubasco for a no-frills, perfectly season Mexican dish. And with over a dozen homemade salsas to choose from, top off your lunch with a trip to their salsa bar. Or if a gourmet sandwich is more your thing, then check out Sammy’s Bistro. A local favorite that has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, offers top-notch sandwiches such as their “Chivito” Club Sandwich.

To round out the day, head to The Handle for a foodie’s paradise and enjoy well-crafted American style small plates. And with the menu changing seasonally, there is always something new to feast on. Or step back in time and check out the Purple Sage. Currently, on the national historic registry, this timeless classic serves up the ultimate in comfort food, like chicken fried chicken or corn battered trout.

Where to Drink

Whether it is the ski season or not, be sure to come out and enjoy a whiskey flight at the country’s only ski-in, ski-out distillery. High West Distillery is a great place to taste award-winning whiskeys and take in the high-life.

If you aren’t a whiskey drinker, then head to Park City Brewery to taste some local flavors, such as their classic American IPA or any of their four beers in their session series.

And if you are looking for a local hangout to enjoy a nightcap, head out to the No Name Saloon. Grab a drink at their upstairs bar or if the weather allows, head out to their outdoor patio to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

It goes without saying if you are here during ski season, heading out to Park City Mountain for a day on the slopes is a must. If you aren’t much of a skier or snowboarder there are other mountain activities such as snowshoeing or even crossing country skiing.

Olympic Park is another great spot to test your adventurous side. No matter what season it is, there is always an activity to enjoy, from riding down the bobsled track to learning how to curl or test your skills at their ropes courses.

If you are looking for more of a relaxed outing, head out to the iconic Egyptian Theatre. As one the Sundance Film Festival’s most significant venues, the theatre hosts many different plays, comedies, musical acts, and special events, so check their website to see what is happening next! Or spend a leisurely day exploring the many shops that Main Street has to offer, from clothing and jewelry stores to outfitters and art galleries, there is something for everyone’s wallet.

To really top off your weekend, enjoy a truly unique experience by heading a little outside of Park City to Homestead Crater, where you can warm up in an all-natural geothermal spring in a limestone crater. Swim, snorkel or practice yoga on a stand-up paddleboard in 96-degree water.
